Yuniya (Yuni) Kawamura, professor, Social Sciences, was invited to join a panel discussion at Oxford Brookes University in the U.K. Kawamura appeared with Frédéric Tcheng, a French filmmaker best known for his documentaries Dior and I (2014) and Invisible Beauty (2023), and Mitaali Katoch, a doctoral student at Oxford Brookes Business School, to discuss the legitimacy of using documentary films in academic fashion research.
The event took place in late April as part of the fourth Creative Industries Festival at Oxford Brookes. Kawamura’s trip was funded by Charles Matz, a multidisciplinary investment company based in London and New York.
