INC Architecture and Design has been named this year’s recipient of the Lawrence Israel Prize, awarded by the Interior Design Department at FIT. The prize, endowed by the architect Lawrence J. Israel, has been given annually since 1998 to an individual or firm whose ideas and work enrich Interior Design students’ course of study.

Adam Rolston, INC’s creative and managing director and a founding partner, accepted the award on March 27, and delivered a talk titled “Architectures of Community,” during which he addressed the role of design as a medium for cultural self-definition, social resistance, and political discourse.
