In March, Visual Presentation and Exhibition Design students Cecilia Porras Estrada and Lea Villafana traveled to Las Vegas to participate in GlobalShop (a trade show for retail design), creating a display for Sephora as part of the Planning and Visual Education Partnership’s Retail Sense+-ory³ Design Project competition. Last fall, Professor Anne Kong led a class where conceptual approaches were developed for the fixture. Sephora representatives helped select the final entry. The two students on the selected team built the full fixture with the assistance of the sponsors MS SIGN and Direct Embed. Kong and four other students accompanied Estrada and Villafana to the show, where more than 1,000 people visited the booth over three days.
The Sephora fixture will be on display in FIT’s Pomerantz Center lobby from June 1 through August 20.
