Sustainable Materials and Artisanship

Thursday, October 29, 6 pm
John E. Reeves Great Hall

High-end fashion is traditionally characterized by its use of precious materials and highly skilled workmanship. New materials and new practices are changing this scenario to include evolved artisanal partnerships that challenge the traditional production supply chain. Instituto-E is a research body that is leading the change, from promoting innovation in materials to artisanal collaborations. This talk is part of the new and ongoing Hand of Fashion series of discussions on ethical practices in the fashion industry hosted by the U.N. Ethical Fashion Initiative’s Simone Cipriani.

Guest: Nina Almeida Braga — Director, Instituto-E
