Creative Technology and Design professors C.J. Yeh and Christie Shin have launched a lifestyle brand that aims to join urbanwear with sustainability. The brand designs apparel, accessories, and everyday objects.

Dsgn by D. will operate via print-on-demand technology—each item is printed on demand after it’s purchased, minimizing waste, while precision-cutting and hand-sewing ensure high-quality garments that are also made sustainably. Because of the production schedule, delivery of garments takes 13 to 17 days, which the creators call “a conscious stand against fast fashion’s excesses.”

“Forget trends, embrace your attitude,” said Yeh. “Dsgn by D. is more than just a brand; it’s a celebration of individuality, a manifesto for the bold, the stylish, and those who rewrite the rules with every step.”

Separately, Yeh was recently interviewed by Illuminz, a creative consultancy specializing in app and website development. In the hour-long conversation, Yeh and Illuminz founder Sanchit discussed the symbiotic relationship between design, creativity, and expression. The interview, titled “C.J. Yeh: Amazing Works and Life Stories,” was published in December as part of the “Illuminated Talk” podcast series.
