Illustration MFA Exhibition: Bookends

June 11-July 9
Gallery FIT, The Museum at FIT

The Master of Fine Arts in Illustration program presents its graduating students’ annual visual thesis exhibition; this year’s exhibition is titled Bookends. In the MFA program, students develop their studio practice in drawing, painting, and digital media—and the integration of all three. Through a focus on studio practice along with classes on creative writing and research, students gain a broad perspective on the illustrator’s role across different media. Students work in a range of areas, such as animation, concept art, children’s books, graphic novels, murals, and reportage.

An event in which the student participants in the exhibition explain the genesis of their work will take place at the Society of Illustrators at 128 E. 63rd St. on Thursday, June 9, at 6:30 pm.  If you would like to attend, please email [email protected].
