Shakespeare in Motion

For centuries, the work of Shakespeare has formed the cornerstone of English and drama studies worldwide. This semester, the Bard’s plays inspired a class of Communication Design students at FIT.

Simple motion pieces featured in #Time, the latest exhibition at Gallery FIT, reimagine MacBeth, Romeo and Juliet, and other Shakespearean plays. “The goal of this project is to communicate a theme and to learn time-based storytelling methods through storyboard and animatic,” said Christie Shin, the class’s professor. Collectively titled Shakespeare in Motion, these student projects display a fundamental understanding of temporal design as well as thoughtful creativity.

Enjoy Shakespeare in Motion below and stop by #Time before it closes on December 13.
