CFDA Award Won by Fashion Design MFA Student

Kritika Manchanda, a graduate student in the Fashion Design MFA program, has been selected as the 2018 CFDA Geoffrey Beene Scholar. The selection committee recognized Manchanda’s “strong portfolio and presentation.” Manchanda will receive a $25,000 scholarship. Fashion Design MFA student Eliza Fisher was also among the finalists, with one finalist from Parsons and two from Academy of Art University.

Members of the selection committee were designers Narciso Rodriguez and Yeolee Teng; Nathan Jenden, creative director of Diane von Furstenberg; Tom Hutton, president and CEO, Geoffrey Beene, LLC; and Sara Kozlowski, director of Education and Professional Development, CFDA.

The competition was open to students in U.S.-based MA or MFA Fashion Design programs.

Manchanda will receive her award at the CFDA Fashion Awards on June 6.
