Yuniya Kawamura Appointed to Bloomsbury Fashion Central Advisory Board

screenshot of homepage of Bloomsbury Fashion CentralYuniya (Yuni) Kawamura, Sociology, has been appointed a member of the editorial advisory board for Bloomsbury Fashion Central, an online platform with four main databases: Berg Fashion Library, Fashion Photography Archive, Fairchild Books Library, and Bloomsbury Fashion Business Cases. In addition, the Bloomsbury Fashion Video Archive is soon to be launched. Full-time and part-time FIT students and faculty have access to these databases through the Gladys Marcus Library, which offers a librarian-conducted research orientation. 

The databases contain the following peer-reviewed contents that are updated and revised twice a year:

Berg Fashion Library
• 15,000 images from museum image partnerships (including The Met, V&A, MoMA and more)
• 125 eBooks
• 3 reference/dictionary titles (A-Z of Fashion; The Dictionary of Fashion History; classic and modern writings on fashion)
• 10 volumes of the Berg Encyclopedia of World Fashion and Dress
• 14 museum exhibitions

Fashion Photography Archive
• 775,000 images
• 250 articles
• 110 designer biographies
• 15 videos of Valerie Steele in conversation with Niall McInerney

Fairchild Books Library
• 130 textbooks

Bloomsbury Fashion Business Cases
• 155 case studies (increasing to 179 in April 2019)
