Edison Tran Wins Major Footwear Scholarship

Edison TranFootwear and Accessories Design graduating student Edison Tran ’20 won the 2020 Joseph C. Moore Footwear Scholarship, offered by the Fashion Footwear Association of New York (FFANY) and ARSUTORIA School in Milan.

The scholarship provides a 12-week course in shoe patternmaking and prototyping at ARSUTORIA School, plus accommodations and roundtrip airfare, valued at over $17,500. It will take place once a safe trip can be assured. All finalists, including Tran, receive access to the ARSUTORIA e-learning platform.

ARSUTORIA School created the scholarship in 2015 to honor Joseph C. Moore, industry advocate, mentor, and former president and CEO of FFANY.

As a testament to FIT’s excellence in footwear education, four of the six scholarship winners thus far have come from FIT. In addition to Tran, these include Hideki Sato ’15, Den Ly ’17, and Sean Stockton ’19.
