Kelly Burton, adjunct instructor, International Trade and Marketing and the Center for Continuing and Professional Studies, has been named an associate editor of International Journal of Sustainable Fashion and Textiles, a new peer-reviewed journal published by Intellect Books. Its principal objectives are to provide a platform for the advancement of sustainable fashion and textiles innovation, raise awareness of environmental and social issues, and disseminate how sustainable solutions can be implemented.
Contributions to the journal are welcomed on all aspects of social, environmental, and economic sustainability in fashion and textiles. Topics include but are not limited to sustainable design; low-waste production; ethical manufacturing; circular economy initiatives; consumer behavior in relation to ethics and sustainability; reframing pedagogical approaches to sustainability; responsible advertising and cause-related marketing/branding; and sustainable fashion practices such as recycling, upcycling, and remanufacture.
Burton was also recently named an industry advisory board member of the Textile Development and Marketing Department.
