Kawamura also showcased 100 handmade teddy bears in the art gallery at St. Luke’s International Hospital in Tokyo, one of the largest university hospitals in Japan, between June 9 and 14. The exhibition was titled NY Teddy Bear World, which is a charity project she founded in 2005. In addition to her newly created bears, this exhibition was an amalgamation of her work that was previously on display in FIT’s annual Faculty and Staff Exhibition in the Lynn and Carl Goldstein Gallery on the ninth floor of the Feldman Center.

Kawamura is currently working on a book about the socio-psychological impact of toys on individuals and society.
