FIT has been named one of the world’s top fashion schools by Vogue Business in its latest global roundup. The assessment considers academic reputation, entry requirements, alumni outcomes, industry engagement, tuition, and each school’s unique strengths.
Vogue Business called out FIT’s strong industry connections, hands-on technical training, and programs that prepare students for careers in New York City’s fashion sector. The publication also noted the expertise of FIT’s faculty—many of whom are active in the industry—and the college’s emphasis on real-world skills across design, business, and technology.
The accolade reflects the continued impact of FIT alumni, including Calvin Klein, Michael Kors, Norma Kamali, Peter Do, Daniel Roseberry, and Francisco Costa. A majority of recent working alumni remain employed in New York City, underscoring the college’s role as a talent pipeline for the industry.
“FIT is a standout choice for students who want an industry-facing education, plus its status as a public institution part of the State University of New York (SUNY) makes its fees far more accessible than others,” the feature reads. “If you want hands-on training and early exposure to internships, this is a smart place to start.”
