Late last year, students from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, joined students from FIT’s Jay and Patty Baker School of Business and Technology to learn and collaboratively share information at a summit titled “Global Aftershocks: Fashion’s Resilience Through Tariff Turmoil.” Lectures and workshops addressed topics such as the impact of tariffs generally, tariffs in the fashion industry, and an examination of the retailer Abercrombie as a case study.
“I truly feel like I have gained indispensable knowledge about our industry, both its current obstacles as well as its future opportunities,” said Emily Everett, a Production Management: Fashion and Related Industries student.
“It truly was an honor to be in a room with such knowledgeable professors and talented students,” said Claudia Barajas, an International Trade and Marketing student. “I learned so much from the discussions, and I’m grateful for the chance to connect with people who are so passionate about this industry.”
