FIT has been ranked in the top 10% on Time’s inaugural America’s Best Colleges 2026–2027 list. Among 500 schools, FIT ranked 51st overall and in the top 8% for student outcomes, a category measuring graduate earnings, graduation rates, and return on education relative to the cost of attendance. Developed by Time in partnership with Statista, the ranking evaluates colleges across three areas: student outcomes, learning environment, and attractiveness to prospective students.

Schupbach launched FIT Future//Forward earlier this year to expand access and create new opportunities for students to pursue careers in the creative economy. Backed by the strong student outcomes highlighted in the Time ranking, this initiative aims to prepare the next generation of industry leaders, honoring the college’s longstanding commitment to career-focused, experiential education.
Time and Statista evaluated eligible U.S. colleges using federal data from the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System, the U.S. Department of Education’s College Scorecard, and the U.S. Census Bureau’s American Community Survey. Student outcomes accounted for 75% of each institution’s overall score, followed by learning environment at 15%, and attractiveness at 10%.
