Tune in on Tuesday, August 25, when two students in FIT’s Precollege Program, Olivia Priolo and Alyssa Gottlieb, will be featured on Good Morning America on ABC-TV (locally Channel 7) during the 8:30-9:00 am half-hour. In this Back to School segment, Priolo and Gottlieb, plus a student from Parsons The New School for Design, will model and be judged on a back-to-school outfit for under $75 that each put together on a shopping trip. Fashion stylist June Ambrose will judge and select the winner.
Priolo, 16, a rising high school junior who took the Ins and Outs of Fashion Merchandising course this summer, says the class and being at FIT made her realize that fashion is the field she wants to pursue. She is particularly interested in the public relations side of fashion. She is currently interning at accessories company Charlotte Olympia. Her personal shopping philosophy is to buy pieces that can be used in multiple ways so her money is wisely spent.
Gottlieb, also 16 and a rising junior, took two courses this summer, Ins and Outs of Fashion Merchandising and Fashion Forecasting for the Future. Her takeaway from the experience is the knowledge that she definitely wants to be involved on the business side of fashion. The courses gave her direction, purpose, and a renewed enthusiasm for the field. She is currently interning at Ralph Lauren.
Priolo and Gottlieb, who were selected by Good Morning America from a pool of outstanding students in FIT’s Precollege Programs, are ready to reveal their looks on live television, as well as be asked about their style philosophies and how each put her look together with a $75 budget.
