Karen Pearson and Elaine Maldonado both won 100 Inspiring Women in STEM Awards from Insight Into Diversity, a magazine addressing diversity in higher education. The awards seek to acknowledge women educators who inspire and encourage young women and girls to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
