Sharon Rothman’s textbook, The Fashion Designer’s Sketchbook: Inspiration, Design Development and Presentation, will be released by Bloomsbury on March 24. She developed the text in response to FIT’s Fashion Design–Art program’s curriculum and by listening to students over the years and staying attentive to cultural trends. The book reflects new industry expectations for spontaneous visual thinking and creative risk-taking in design development. The text guides readers through the creative sketchbook process, illustrated by images from Rothman’s students’ design journals.
