On June 1, Patrick Knisley will become the dean for the School of Liberal Arts, a position he has been filling in an acting capacity since January 2015. Knisley joined FIT over ten years ago in the Department of English and Communications and since that time has become a leader in his department, serving as chair from 2013 to 2015. An active contributor to the FIT community, he has also served with distinction on numerous departmental, School of Liberal Arts, Faculty Senate and college-wide committees. Prior to his arrival at FIT, he enjoyed a long professional history as a senior executive in the fields of marketing communication, advertising, and film production. He holds a PhD in English literature from the University of Colorado.
