We had the pandemic happening, so that put limitations on what can be done as part of recruitment.”

Wes Gordon Honored
The Couture Council of The Museum at FIT honored Wes Gordon, creative director of Carolina Herrera, with its 2021 Couture Council Award for Artistry of Fashion at Cipriani South Street. The luncheon benefited the recently-reopened Museum at FIT (MFIT), and raised nearly $700,000.

Amber Valletta Named FIT Sustainability Ambassador
Amber Valletta, model, actress, and activist has been named the college’s first sustainability ambassador, further solidifying FIT’s commitment to expanding sustainability education and awareness to address the challenges facing the creative industries. In her role as FIT’s sustainability ambassador, Valletta will work closely with the FIT community, alumni, and partners throughout the 2021–2022 academic year and beyond.
