New Fine Arts Faculty Member Joins FIT in Spring 2024

At FIT’s spring 2024 convocation on January 25, Interim Vice President for Academic Affairs Yasemin Jones introduced this semester’s newest assistant professor, Jason Stopa, in the School of Art and Design’s Department of Fine Arts.

Stopa holds an MFA from Pratt Institute and a BFA from Indiana University. At Pratt, he served as an adjunct assistant professor and visiting assistant professor in the graduate fine arts department. Jason’s past teaching experience includes service as adjunct faculty at Rhode Island School of Design, Purchase College, and the School for Visual Arts.

Stopa’s impact also extends beyond the classroom, as he has served as an editorial coordinator for Columbia University’s Journal of Philosophy since 2013 and is an active contributor to many art-based magazines and periodicals. As an accomplished artist, he has exhibited his work nationally and internationally with solo exhibitions at prestigious galleries such as the Diane Rosenstein Gallery in Los Angeles and the Morgan Lehman Gallery in New York.
