Chief Diversity Officer Ron Milon has been honored with two new leadership positions.

In May, Milon was named a Leadership Fellow with the SUNY SAIL Institute, an organization that develops and provides cutting-edge professional development training for faculty, staff, and students across 64 campuses, seeking to strengthen the pipeline of leaders in the SUNY system.

Milon has been deeply involved with the SAIL Institute, including serving on the design team for the Institute’s 2021 Winter Leadership program, and co-designing and facilitating the series “Making our Way Through Challenging Times: Empowering Inclusive Citizen Leaders,” which took place from October 2020 to March 2021. In October 2021, Milon began teaching a five-part virtual series, “Empowering Change Leaders.”

In September, Milon was named to the board of Big Apple Performing Arts, home of the New York
City Gay Men’s Chorus and the Youth Pride Chorus, world-renowned as performing arts leaders and creative outlets for the LGBTQI+ community. During the coronavirus-imposed hiatus in live programming, the new board plans to implement a series of new policies, including improved anti-racist, anti-discrimination, and
anti-harassment policies, before resuming in-person programming in 2022.
