Sonja Chapman Elected Chair of Cotton Board

Sonja ChapmanSonja Chapman, International Trade and Marketing, has been elected to serve as chair of the Cotton Board. The Memphis, Tennessee-based nonprofit administers the nation’s Cotton Research and Promotion Program, and is funded by a per-bale assessment paid by Upland cotton producers and importers.

In addition to her work at FIT, where she is an associate professor, Chapman is an importer in New Jersey and is currently the director of international traffic and import compliance for the Golden Touch/Jaclyn Groups. She was first appointed to the Cotton Board by the U.S. Secretary of Agriculture in 2004.
