What’s the Future of Streaming? A Marketing Communications Pro Shares Thoughts

Michael NagleMichael Nagle, adjunct instructor, Marketing Communications, and general manager of streaming and senior director of OTT for Gannett/USA Today Networks, shared his knowledge of the streaming industry at several conferences this summer. (OTT stands for “over-the-top,” which means providing film and television content over the internet.)

In early June, Nagle spoke at the fourth annual Connected TV Advertising Summit, hosted by Videonuze, on the role of innovation in the connected TV industry and the outlook for the market in the next few years.

Later that month, Nagle spoke at two panels at the Stream TV Show, the largest meeting ground for the streaming TV industry, with over a thousand attendees and over 50 panels. At this year’s Stream TV Show, held June 12-14 in Denver, Nagle interviewed the head of digital sales for DirectTV Advertising for one panel and moderated another titled “Content ROI for Niche Streamers.” The session, which analyzed how to deliver the most value from content investment, featured speakers from Backlight, Fuse Media and Outdoor Sportsman Group.

In late August, he moderated a panel discussion at the StreamTV Advertising Summit, a conference that addressed current trends, growing opportunities, and key challenges faced by those in the connected TV advertising industry. Nagel’s panel was titled “Winning the Ad Game: Targeting, Tech and Beyond” and was about leveraging the power of data-driven advertising.
